What Language Coach Online is

Language Coach Online — LCO (languagecoachonline.com) — is a speaking-practice service: short voice conversations with an AI language coach, followed by practice exercises built from your own mistakes. It is operated by Tim Fanning (“we”), the maker of HoopsEnglish. By creating an account you agree to these terms.

Your account

You need an account to use the coach. Keep your password private; you are responsible for what happens under your login. One person per account. You must be 16 or older, or have a parent or guardian create and supervise the account.

Classes and payment

Your available allowance and current prices are shown before you buy. Where class packs are available, the first class is the free two-minute class on the homepage (no account needed), and a new account can then buy a 3-class starter pack for US$1, once per account. One class is a four-minute conversation, with feedback and personalised practice. Packs are one-time purchases: no subscription or automatic refill, and paid classes do not expire. If a class cannot connect, your class is restored automatically. Contact support for a problem after it starts or if your balance does not look right.

Existing early-access allowances remain in place. Early-access accounts will be told by email before anything about price or allowance changes for them. Existing subscribers can manage their plan in their profile.

The coach is software

Your coach is an AI model guided by a written coaching method. It can misunderstand you, mishear a word, or correct something that was fine. Treat it as practice, not as an authority. Conversations stay on language practice; a conversation that moves away from practice may be ended, and your account paused while a human looks at it.

Your content

What you say to the coach is yours. We record and transcribe conversations to run the service, build your practice list, and improve the coaching method. We do not sell your conversations and we do not use them for advertising. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what we keep.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to harass, to generate content that is illegal where you live, to probe or overload our systems, or to resell access. We can suspend or close accounts that do.

Ending your account

You can stop any time. Email us and we will delete your account and its conversations, subject to anything we must keep by law. We can close the service itself with reasonable notice.

No warranty, limited liability

The service is provided as-is. We do our best to keep it running and accurate but do not promise either. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the last twelve months (during early access, nothing).
